Why We Love Supporting Student Competitions
For years, our High-Velocity Mass Customization (HVMC) capabilities have enabled scientists, engineers and innovators to build custom parts and enclosures in ultra-fast time, helping them accelerate their project velocity and maintain momentum.
Alongside this, we have been dedicated to supporting student competitions that nurture innovation and excellence, a cause that is incredibly important to us.
In a world driven by rapid advances in technology, we believe fostering the next generation of scientists and engineers is more important than ever. And these competitions are a powerful platform for students to flex their creativity and innovation in science, engineering, business and project management.
When we invest in these competitions, we’re investing in a future where innovation has no limits!

What We Support
We support many different students for a variety of engineering-focused initiatives and projects. When it comes to competitions, we are proud to be a major sponsor for four premiere competitions: the University Rover Challenge (URC), the Canadian International Rover Challenge (CIRC), the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) and Launch Canada.
These competitions have long been a catalyst for innovation, inspiring students to push technological boundaries and solve real-world challenges.
At CIRC and URC, students design and build Mars Rovers capable of navigating challenging, simulated Martian terrains. These competitions demand resilience and teamwork from students across multiple disciplines, including robotics, software engineering, science and mechanical/electrical engineering.
On the other hand, the IREC and Launch Canada challenge multidisciplinary student teams to design, build and launch rockets. These competitions rigorously test the engineering skills of participants while demanding adherence to strict safety standards for successful flights and high-altitude deployments.
What We Offer
We offer all teams registered in these competitions an in-kind manufacturing credit which can be used for custom sheet metal, CNC machined or 3D printed parts, enclosures and components.
For the competitions themselves, we also custom-manufacture critical parts that are being used to enhance the experience for the student teams when performing missions and tasks.
Why We Sponsor
Freeing Students’ Time
Our manufacturing credit allows students to focus more on designing and testing their rockets rather than spending excessive hours fabricating parts. By leveraging our expertise, they can allocate more time to the numerous other critical aspects of their projects. Also, these teams are working on a full school workload, along with this massive engineering project.
Enabling Iteration and Testing
Innovation thrives on testing and refinement. And with our ultra-fast manufacturing lead times, student teams receive their parts swiftly, allowing ample time for thorough testing and problem-solving. Nobody wants to work 12 months on a design, only for it to not operate during the competition.
Professional Experience
Competing students gain valuable real-world experience by interacting with a professional manufacturing process. This experience prepares them for their professional careers, giving them a significant edge as they enter the workforce.
Conclusion
By supporting student competitions, we partner with university teams to push boundaries and enhance every event we join.
Our collaboration helps students bring their creative visions to life, but for us, it’s about more than that. It’s about building meaningful connections and fostering the growth of our future leaders in science and engineering.
