Aluminum Bus Bars
While copper is favored for bus bars due to its superior electrical conductivity, aluminum can be used if lighter weight and lower cost are priorities.
Among our in-stock material, 6061-T6 Aluminum is the most conductive option. However, designing with the proper bend radius is critical to avoid cracking. In contrast, 5052 Aluminum is not as conductive but better for bending. Other options like 7075-T6, 2024-T3, and Alca 5 lack good conductivity and bending capabilities.
