What is the Dalhousie Formula SAE Project?

Dalhousie Formula SAE Project

The Dalhousie Formula SAE is a student run design team that competes each year at Michigan International Speedway with over 100 other universities and technical colleges around the world. The goal of the competition is to design and build an open wheel concept car that runs with an engine (maximum 600cc).

In terms of some of the project challenges; the team is faced with both apparent and unforeseeable issues. One of the most difficult challenges is dealing with time management; the car design and the build of the vehicle itself takes place during student exams and midterms, making the project difficult. With Protocase’s manufacturing speed, the student team is able to send in their design and receive their sheet metal parts on a timely fashion.

Members of the team have heard about Protocase from their design supervisors who have previously had custom enclosures made by Protocase before. The Dalhousie FSAE had a great experience working with Protocase. “Protocase was extremely helpful, patient and friendly” they had stated. Adding that, “the entire process was very smooth and professionally carried out and we were surprised how quickly we received the finished product once the order was given.” We continue providing sponsor support to the Dalhousie FSAE team in 2014.
