Countersinking uses a drill press machine to create a conical hole in part or enclosure that matches the angle and head size of a particular flathead screw.
Countersinking is ideal for ensuring your flathead screws sit flush against the metal of your custom enclosure or part.

Having your flathead screws sit flush against the metal of your part or enclosure can be advantageous for several reasons:
We offer standard countersink angles of 82 degrees, 90 degrees and 100 degrees.
If you require a custom countersink angle, please contact us to discuss your options.
Countersinking is available on all of our sheet metal.
The material of the part being countersunk must be thick enough to accommodate the head depth of the screw being used. If the material isn't thick enough, your screw will bottom out before it can sit flush with the surface.
In order to ensure that your flathead screw sits flush, the material thickness of your panel must be at least the same height as the depth of your screw head.
If you require assistance choosing a metal thickness to correspond with your screw and countersink, please contact us.
We are able to hold a tolerance of ±0.030” on the outer diameter of a countersink.
Our experts can design your custom enclosures exactly as you want them.
