Grained Finish

Your part is de-burred, and then given a specific linear grain direction via brushing. It is the aesthetically superior option for bare finish for parts or enclosures that will be displayed.

    • #3 Finish: 40-60 RA (surface finish)

    • #4 Finish: 20-40 RA (surface finish)

Aluminum

    • Brushed Finish: 40-60 RA (surface finish)

    • #4 Finish: 20-40 RA (surface finish)

What about the other materials we have in stock?

  • Cold Rolled Steel: A grained finish can be applied; however, it is recommended only when a third plating finish, such as tin plating, is added. Grained finish alone should be avoided, as the parts will rust.
  • Galvanneal: We do not recommend Grained finish, as it will remove the zinc-iron alloy coating.
  • Copper: While a grained finish can be applied, it is not recommended. If you have this requirement, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

    Constraints

    • • Cannot be applied if the length is less than 0.5" and the width is less than 0.5".
    • • Can only be applied to accessible flat exterior faces on machined parts.
    • • Applied to sheet metal parts before the bending process.
